In previous years, the Costa del Sol was mainly associated with sun, beaches and golf. The only link many visitors had to the city of Malaga was the airport, a place we as quickly as possible wanted to get away from to reach our destination at the beaches and golf courses of Marbella, Fuengirola or any of the other classic resorts along the coast.
For us who live on the coast, however, it has long been obvious that Malaga is a city with great potential and that in recent years has gained an impressive boost. Both the national and international interest in the city has increased significantly and today it is one of Spain's fastest growing cities and is often referred to as "The New Barcelona".
At a time in history when industry after industry is being digitized, it is difficult to find arguments for Europe's most southern city not to continue to grow. More and more people have the opportunity to work digitally and choose a place of residence based on the quality of life and cost of living, rather than where the job is available.
The Swedish magazine SVENSKAMAGASINET.NU emphasizes that there is currently 910,000 sq.m. office space in Malaga, but that the need in the near future is 1.5 - 2 million sq.m., which means a doubling of existing spaces. Something we as a property developer in the city obviously think is very exciting and we are currently studying how we can best help this amazing city to continue to grow and develop.
